Fantasy Basketball Score Types
Fantasy Basketball Score #1: Head-to-Head or H2H
Head-to-head scoring is when each team has an agreed upon schedule of ”playing” with the other teams within a given week. The fantasy basketball commissioner uses real NBA statistics for each player during the week of scheduled play. Fantasy basketball H2H scores can be scored in two different ways:
1. All Categories are eligible to Win
It means that a fantasy basketball team will receive points based on categories such as the fewest turnovers or free throw percentage. You can also weight each category. For example, if you get two points for the winning score, then the rebounds are worth two points. The team that has the most points is the winner.
2. Each Category is a Winner
The team that has the most pleasing statistics in a certain category wins. Losers will receive a mark. The results of these weekly matches will be added up and calculated at the end.
The H2H Leagues are very similar to the Playoff System. The brackets determine a matchup based on seeding, which is determined by the season’s win-loss record. In a bracket the winner advances and the loser is eliminated. The process continues till there is only one winner.
Fantasy Basketball Score #2: Rotisserie
Rotisserie scoring is based on real-life statistics that are taken by the players and then added to an aggregated team. These players are ranked based on the same statistics used by other fantasy basketball teams. These rankings are used to determine the fantasy basketball points.
As an example, a fantasy basketball roto situation is where a 12-team team league selects the one with the highest rebound total over the course of the season. This team receives 12 fantasy points, while the team that is second in the league gets 11 points. The team with the lowest fantasy basketball score will only receive one point.
The team with the lowest score will receive the most fantasy points for categories such as fouls and turnovers.
All categories in the league are given the same point system. The fantasy basketball team that has the most points is the winner.
Roto scoring allows for a balanced roster of fantasy basketball players. It doesn’t matter if you win the rebounding category by three or 100 rebounds. The steal category can be won by two steals, and the assist category by just one. This could result in twice as many points as if the team had won the category of 100 rebounds. In this kind of fantasy basketball, teams have to do well in all categories in order to win.
